CLASSES & CLINICS
CLASSES FOR ALL AGES
Our dojo offers multiple age bracket classes to ensure that all learning and development needs are met. All classes develop the fundamentals of Shotokan karate in our students. While younger classes center more around class structure and discipline, older classes emphasize the intricacies and practicality of our style.
ADVANCED CLASSES
Our regularly scheduled advanced classes give our higher ranked students the opportunity to master the basics and prepare for black belt and beyond.
Additionally, we have the honor of hosting a once per month Saturday training for black belts from all corners of Florida.
SELF DEFENSE CLINICS
Throughout the year we provide self defense classes for the public. To find out when our next clinic will be or to schedule a private clinic for your church or business, please contact us.
ABOUT SKHP
Shotokan Karate and Human Performance, LLC was founded in 2017 with the intention of bringing high quality instruction and a welcome environment to the men, women, boys, and girls of Sumter and the surrounding counties. Our training principles are derived from our understanding of the teaching of masters such as Masatoshi Nakayama, Hidetaka Nishiyama, and Steve Ubl. We emphasize strong fundamentals, sound mechanical principles, legitimate karate application.

We are the second generation of Shotokan karate in Sumter County, FL, preceded by our mother dojo - Sumter School of Shotokan founded in 1985 by Leslie Neese. We welcome and encourage students off all ages and karateka (and other martial artists) of all backgrounds on our floor.
